ROTARY CLUB.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS. There was a good attendance at the weekly meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club held to-day in Milne and Clioyce's reception hall. The president, Rotarian Harold Thomas, occupied the chair, and among the visitors were: Dr. Elizabeth Gfegory (Dunedin), Captain Llewellyn (Glasgow), Messrs. J. H. Ashton (New Plvmouth), and A. E. Smith (Invercargill). The president referred to the death last week of the eldest son of Rotarian W. C. Mackay, who with his wife, is at present absent in England. Suitable messages, said Mr. Thomas, had been cabled to Mr. and Mrs. Mackay, and at his request members stood for a few moments in silence as a mark of sympathy. The officers for next Rotarian year, whose nominations were received a week ago, were elected as follow:—President, Rotarian W. E. Lewisham; vice-presi-dent, Rotarian C. K. Grierson; hon. secretary, Rotarian W. J. Foote; hon. treasurer, Rotarian R. T. Postles; directors, Rotarians T. D. Allen, G. M. Smith, L. A. Eady and R. F. Shand. The speaker of the day was Professor A. G. Strong, 0.8. E." Dean «f the Home Science School at Otago University, whose subject was "Certain Aspects in the Art of Right Living." The vote of thanks was moved by Rotarian Dr. J. W. Craven.
