ATTACKS IN BRITAIN. PRIME MINISTER'S REPLY. 'WILL KEEP OUR CONTRACTS.' (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The fact that a whispering campaign against New Zealand had been started and was the cause of the lowered price of the Dominion's securities in London, was mentioned to-day by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage. In commenting on the position Mr. Savage stated that he had received information concerning the campaign by a recent mail, the criticism circulated being against the Labour Government. "Xew Zealand was never in a better position to pay her way," declared Mr. Savage. "We have a surplus of £800,000, but surpluses are not the only things that count. The thing that matters is how much trade are we doing with Britain, and I would be fairly correct in saying that we are doing more than ever in our history, and we are just as intent on paying our interest as ever we were. Whatever contracts we make! we keep to them."
