Just Married
THERE are many young couples whose success in marriage depends on both working at least for a time. They may he saving toward a home. p. lialiy. or greater financial security at a later date, and decide mutually that theirs shall he a maidless household. So that too much of the housekeeping responsibility and work shall not fall on the young wife, careful planning and dividing up the constantly recurring daily tasks is essential.

Close co-operation is necessary to maintain harmony. The first tiling to rlo is to take all the inhibitions off the shelf, dust tliem off, and view .them impersonally. In working out any plan of co-operation, a great ileal depends on the personal temperament and 'early training of both the yonng lmsba'nd and the young wife. No young wife will get far if she says. "I work all day and I'm tired at night, just as you are. You've .not to do your share!" But the wife who casually says, "You know, if you would light the oven and put in a couple of potatoes when you pet home, wc could have dinner earlier, and see a' movie, or have the Johnson's over for bridge." may find a true sense of helpfulness in her husband. The electric coffee-making device i« a source of interest for the young man. The vacuum type may spur Ijim not only to a practical demonstration of its use. but to a detailed explanation of the principle of operation. Either way, if he takes turns making the coffee in the morning, life becomes more fun, and much easier for the young wife. Most men are machine-minded, so some of the new electrical equipment fascinates them. You may have a private attack of near-heart failure when he takes your electric beater apart and puts it together again, and boastfully announces that he could build one jußt as prood. But maybe he will want to see it in operation, beatinjr potatoes* oi. whipping cream for dessert. A bottle of cleaning fluid with a spray for cleaning mirrors anrl windows has enouph of the "ma;ric" element' to intrigue the small boy in every man.
although you may find him inventing new and impossible uses for it, or "borrowing" it permanently to clean the car windows. In this age of gadgets, the most frequently recurring task'g find a piece of equipment to make easier—anij to intrigue and hold a man's interest.
