LARGEST STAMP COLLECTION.

The sale of the largest single stamp collection of the world's first postal stamps, including the British pennv black, which was formed bv the late Mr h. H. Williams, of Woodstock. Vermont united States, occurred recently \t this sale in London the 30.000 stamps realised £7200. The sale on each of two clays lasted more than four hour* a record. A single stamp of the first issue in 1840 fetched £82, and £375 wae paid for a complete Mint sheet of ■the IS4I penny red.
