THE COCKEREL'S SKULL

Skull shape has a definite bearing on a cockerel's breeding value. The first desirable feature is the flattening of the skull from side to side. Thus there should be no ridge along the top. The next point is in regard to width. A good width should be carried well forward, giving the comb a rounded base instead of one which is fiat. There should, too, be a good depth of head in relation to its length. Finally the top of the skull [should be level or slightly curved from i front to rear.
