The Wellington wool sale of April 22 realised a gross return to growers of £227,965, corfipared with £765,303 for the corresponding sale last year. The bales offered and sold, with the figures for last year in parentheses, were:—Offered. 18.265 (29.784); sold, iG, 1 fi(i (2!),037: passed in, 2109 (147). The average price per bale was £14 2/2. against £25 l(i and the average per lb was 9.00 d, against 17.584 d.
