SUPREME COURT.
CRIMINAL SESSION. OPENS TO-MORROW. MURDER CHARGE ON UST. The May session of the Supreme Court, northern circuit, will be opened at Auckland to-morrow, when a fixture list of 24 criminal cases will come before Mr. Justice Fair and. the grand jury for consideration. Crimes of violence are represented on the list by only two charges, but one of them is the capital charge of murder, arising out of the discovery of the dead body of a farmer in the Henderson district. There are three charges of theft and one of embezzlement. Five of the cases on the list arise out of motor car accidents, four persons being charged with negligent driving, thereby causing death, and one with having failed to stop and render assistance after an accident. Eleven persons are charged with crimes of an indecent nature, and two are alleged to have made unlawful use of an instrument. There is a long list of over 50 civil cases set down for hearing at the conclusion of the criminal session, more than 20 of which will be heard by judge and jury, in addition to a great number of divorce petitions, of which six will be defended.
