DEATH IN HOSPITAL.
. OAMARU BUSINESS MAN. GUNSHOT WOUND IN HEAD. (By Telegraph.—rross Association.) OAMARU, this day. The drath occurifd yesterday morning at the Oamaru Hospital of Mr. Robert Buchanan Irvine, who for .">0 years till he retired a few months ajr". mannered the local branch of Daljrety and Co.. Ltd. For over a year Mr. Irvine had been sufTerinjr an illness. He left home about <i.:<o on Saturday but as lie had not returned by p.m. a search was instituted .anil he was found at the (olmnba lmvn tennis courts with a gunshot wound in hi.s head and a rifle alongside his body. He was removed to hospital, were he died four hours later. Mr. Irvine was widely known and highly respected both by the farming community and by fellow citizens. At one time he represented Uta;jo at Soccer. He leaves a widow, a .-on and daughter.
