The "Daily Telegraph" Rome correspondent says that, as Chief of the Italian Public Security Department, ■Senator Bocchini is not taking any chances on Heir Hitler's safety when in Rome. Many Jewish and other refugees who have arrived in Italy since 193.") have been told that it would be wise to keep clear of Rome, Naples and Florence until Herr Hitler has gone. Those who would not or could not take the hint would be placed under "precautionary arrest." A system of passport control lias been introduced on the roads to Rome. Cars are halted outside the city and passports examined. Landlords and householders have been warned that they are responsible for the good behaviour of tenants. Flower pots must be removed from balconies and windows because thev might fall on Herr Hitler's head. An earlier cable from Berlin stated that Herr Hitler is going to Rome on May 2, accompanied by Herr von Ribbentrop, Herr Hess, Dr. (ioebbels, Dr. Franck, General Keitcl, Herr Himmler. Dr. Dietrich and numerous hijeh naval and military officials. Herr Hitler will be the guest of the King of Italy for a few days. Seven hundred secret police have gone to Italy to guard him during his \isit, in addition to two companies of his bodyguard.
