MALICIOUS ACT?
BROKEN GLASS "PLANTED." TRAINTNTG TRACK DISCOVERY. Discovery of jagged, broken bottles driven into the ground alon? a football training track and concealed by a light covering of sawdust is being investigated by the Onehunga police. " The glass, which is believed to have been laid deliberately, was found on Sunday afternoon by the secretary of the Manukan Rugby Football Club, Mr. C. Williams, while he was inspecting the club's training area in Rowe opposite the railway station. Placed at intervals along the track, the broken glass could possibly have caused serious injury in the course of training it was stated to-day. Mr. Williams raked the track and removed the glass. The quantity found showed that at least four large bottles had been broken and "planted"i in the gTound. The bottles had not been taken from | the club's rooms, the key of which is I held only hy Mr. Williams. It was | gathered, therefore, that the bottles I had been deliberately taken to the I playing area.
