Second innings. 14<> for seven wickets (Morriss 30. A McKinnun Z". Crawshaw 27 not out). A RETURN CONTEST. EDEX JUST BEATS RODXET. Tn the return cricket match between Eden and Rodney on Monday, the Auckland champions had their revenge for Saturday's defeat. Scores: — Rodney.—First inninzs 181 (P. Dunninjr 6C>. Wyatt 53). Bowling: C. Snedden took six wickets for 41 (22 overs). W. X. Carson two for 34 (11 overs). Eden—First innin?s 182 for nine wickets (H. Harrison 32. Carson 30, A. J. Postles 24. Snedden 22 not out, B. Smith 12 not out). Eden required 35 runs to win when the last man came in. These were pot in an exciting finish, five minutes before time. Both matches were played at Omaha. Prior to the return contest the whole of the Eden eleven visited Leigh cemetery, and Captain Postles placed a wreath on the grave of E. .T. (Ted) Dunning. Grafton's Plunket Shield player, who was drowned at Murray's Bay after a farewell picnic to J. Cowie 4 March, 1937.
