BRIDE IN PEARLTONED SATIN.

Three Bridesmaids In White Attend Her.

ALEXANDER—DEWING.

Very beautiful was the pearl-toned satin gown worn by Miss Vera Edith Dewing, when she became Mrs. Digby Cavley Alexander, at St. Aidan's Church, Remuera, on Saturday evening. Made on Juliet lines with tight-fitting sleeves, the lieart-sliaped neck was outlined with small seed pearls, while the skirt, which was draped from a high-pointed front, merged gracefully into a long train at the back. A becoming top-knot of orange blossom was attached to a billowy tulle veil which fell in soft folds to the hem line. A lovely bouquet of exotic blooms was carried.

The trio of attendants, Miss Joyce McCartney, Aliss Esme Burcher (the bride's cousin) and Aliss Alison Laery, made a charming picture in their modishly fashioned frocks of ivory white silk net over ivory satin. Halter neck lines, gauged waists and satin buttons defined the similarly made bodices, the full-pleated skirts being gathered into wide bands, giving a slightly low-waisted effect. Armlets and topknots of crimson gerberas completed a novel touch.

Mr, Gerald Cayley Alexander was best man, and Messrs. Douglas Adkins, lan AlcCartney and Bob Reese acted as ushers.

The bride, who is the younger daughter of Airs. Alaurice Dewing, of Aldred Road, Remjuera, and the late Air. Dewing, was given away by Mr. Neil Ale Lean. and the ceremony at the church was performed by the Rev. H. Steele, Air. Alorton playing the wedding music, with Aliss Hyland as vocalist. The bridegroom is. the younger son of Mr. and Airs. Cayley Alexander, of Clonbern Road, Remuera.

A largely attended reception was held later at Hotel Cargen, where glowing autumn blooms made effective decorations in the palm lounge, and the table of honour was centred with pastel-toned flowers. Mrs. Dewing, mother of the bride, wore a petunia floral taffeta frock draped on classical lines. Her matching hat was of peach bloom felt, and her spray of flowers was. composed of clover pink gladioli and autumn toned leaves. Mrs. Alexander was gowned in black ring velvet with small black toque, and corsage of russet flowers.
