The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows on the autumn cattle fair held at the Opotiki saleyardsj — We bad a very large yarding of station catlle, including the annual drafts from Ain ok urn, Tunapahore, Marachako and \\ hituare stations. The entry comprised a large number of good quality Rolled Angus and Hereford steers, and tiiese met with good competition, though prices realised were not as good as expected. Female cattle were not wanted and show a distinct decline on late rates. Our principal sales were:—On account A. E. i. 44 18-month P.A. steers. £0 1/: 20 i.: t and forward cows. PIG SALE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) OPOTTKI, Saturday. Messrs. Dalgety and Companv. Limited, report that a very large yarding of all classes of pigs came forward at their monthly pig gale. There was a la rue and representative attendance of buyers, which included the usual bench of export and bacon factory buyers. Competition was keen throughout, especially on all bacon pigs, which were yarded in lesser numbers and showed less finish than those at the previous sales, with values slightlv firiner. Porkers wore yarded in considerably larger numbers, whilst the finish was lint quite up to the usual standard. Competition was keen, with values remaining practically the same. Store pigs were . v a riled in smaller numbers and rather keener inquiry at a slight advance at late rates.
