POLES' REGRET.

CHEATED OF PREY. "Ought to Have Made a Job" of Lithuania. THE BALTIC SITUATION. United Tress Association.—Copyright. LONDON, March 21. The Polish Nationalists, who last week conducted a violent "On to Kovno" campaign, are wondering, after Lithuania's unconditional acceptance of the Polish ultimatum, whether the demands were not too modest, says the Warsaw correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph."

Many declare that, having adopted German methods, Poland ought to have "made a job of it." They feel that they have been cheated of their prey and that the establishment of normal diplomatic relations will not go beyond the resumption of transport and communication services and the opening of Legations, which are regarded as insufficient.

These views animated thousands who, shoutinjr: ".Annex Lithuania!" attempted to march to the Foreign Office to protest against the acceptance of Lithuania's submission, which they declared was unsatisfactory to Poland. In speeches ( preceding the demonstration speakers ' ( also demanded mobilisation with a view I. to the invasion of Lithuania. The police were able to disperse the crowd only after a fire brigade had ! played hoses on the demonstrators for 11 20 minutes. The police made 435 arrests. J ■ Lithuanians say they surrendered ' owing to German and Polish pressure and the failure of Russia to provide : the aid she repeatedly promised. Esthonia, Latvia and Lithuania may now establish a real entente, while Poland is anxious for better relations with Russia and Germany. The Scandinavian States also are interested in' the situation, which affords the oppor- : tunity for a strong neutral bloc to i promote peace between Russia and l Germany. . M. Lozoraitas, Lithuanian Foreign Minister, has resigned because of his country's surrender to Poland. I
