NEW PRESIDENT.
EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATION. . MR. J. A. C. ALLUM CHOSEN". At a meeting of the executive committee of the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association yesterday, Mr. J. A. C. Allum was unanimously elected president of the association in succession to Mr. J. S. Dawes. Mr. Dawes is to leave shortly to reside in the South Island, and because of this he tendered his resignation from a position which he has occupied for a number of years. The meeting yesterday expressed its hearty appreciation of the splendid work performed by the retiring president, and it elected him a life member of the association. Mr. Allnm, the new president, was formerly president of the Auckland Manufacturere' Association and is well known in business and local body circles. He is a sitting member of the Auckland Transport Board, and was formerly chairman of that body.
