SAVILE CUP TOURNEY. CAMBRIDGE DEFENDS TITLE BIG HAMILTON GATHERING. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, thie day. Ideal weather favoured the opening games in the Savile Cup tournament—the leading polo contest in the Dominion—at Claudelands Showground to-day. Eighty players and over 300 ponies are engaged. It was the largest entry of riders and mounts at auy championship yet. Cambridge A, Dominion champion for two years, had its team changed, when C. G. Voeper (former captain) was replaced by L. K. Kay, who was captain of the B team. A osper will replace Kay in the B team. In the first match this morning the ha vile Cup holders. Cambridge A met \Vainiai, while Hawkes Bay and' Glen Murray were also matched. Rangitikei played Cambridge B, and Alatamata will meet Matangi A this afternoon. The first game in the New Zealand Junior Cup, MornnsvilJe v. Waihou \ takes place late this afternoon. As expected Cambridge A had little difficulty in disposing of Waimai in tiio hist round this morning winning by 6 goals to 2. The game. however was by no means always one-sided, fast and exciting rallies holding the interest of spectators, who grew m number ae the day progressed. Cambridge did not combiue ae well as usual ,n the early stages, but later their new quartet settled down to hard polo and were little troubled. K.
