AORANGI AND MATUA.
BOTH IN PORT TO-DAY. BARQUE'S BELATED DEPARTURE. PEXAXG AUSTRALIA BOUND. On her 40th voyage north to British Columbia, the Canadian - Australasian liner Aorangi reached Auckland this morninji from Sydney with a good list of passengers, many of whom disembarked here. The Aorangi, which is at Queen's wharf, will continue her voyage at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning. A second arrival with passengers this morning was the Union Steam .Ship Company\j motor vessel Matua from Southern Pacific Island*, which is scheduled to leave her berth at Prince's wharf this evening for Wellington. Her cargo included more than 20,(100 cases of bananas, other tropical fruits, hides, f'ingus and coconut oil. The Finnish bnrque Penang. which cleared Auckland on Saturday morning for Port Augusta in the Spencer Gulf, and later anchored throe miles past the Rangitoto beacon. rqKMit rive hours yesterday in an endeavour to make the o]>en sea against an adverse wind end an incoming tide. About seven o'clock in the, evening she returned to her anchorage and at 8.40 a.m. to-day hove up again and sailed on the ebb tide. The Federal Steam Navigation Line's freighter Hertford is discharging English shipments at Central wharf, and is expected to be dispatched for the south next Saturday. Included in her cargo are two further rail, cars for the Wellington suburban lines. Like those brought by the Cambridge and Brisbane Star, these will be unloaded by floating crane at Wellington. The Union Company freighter Waiotapu will sail this evening for Newcastle and Williamstown to load again for Auckland.
