THE GOLF SEASON. CLUB'S OPENINGS HELD. MIXED FOURSOMES PIRATED. AUCKLAND CLUB. LIMIT PAIR WINS. Extensive alterations to the rear portions of the clubhouse are part of the activities at Middlemore this season and over il 1000 is being spent. Apart from a few bad greens, the course was in promising condition for the opening mixed foursome. The Vice-president. Mr. Nelson Mitchell, drove the first ball —and did it well. Tho official opening of the Pupuke Golf Club was well attended and the links were good, though hard and fast for want of rain. Eighty players took part in a mixed Canadian foursome over a full round.
