LOSES HIS LICENSE.

STOCK DEALER IN COURT. INTOXICATED IX MOTOR CAR. When Herbert Lorraine Walters, a dealer, appeared before Mr. W. R. McKean. S.M.. in the Otahuhu Court this morninjr he pleaded guilty to being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car. Serjreant J. Daly said that on March 17. following a complaint. Constable Xieholl went to Atkinson Avenue, Otahuhu. and found defendant, by his car on the footpath. The key had been taken out by a 'friend, who. realising his condition, had tried to stop him driving the car. He had got the car started down bill and it had run across the road, mounting the path. He was arrested and taken to the police station, where Dr. E. E. Lange certified him as unfit to be in charge of a car. Mr. A. Moody, for accused, asked that Walters' license be not cancelled as he required the use of his car in his work as a stock dealer. Mr. McKean said that despite the fact that someone had tried to help him betaking away the key, he had persisted in driving. He was fined flO and costs, and his license cancelled for six months.
