DRIVERS' ESCAPE.

MOTOR CARS COLLIDE. Two drivers had lucky escapes from injury when their cars collided at the intersection of Mount Eden and Balmoral Roads about 8.30 o'clock last night. A two-seater car driven by Mr. X. Bartlett, of Panmure, was travelling down Mount Kden Road towards Three Kings when it was involved in a collision with a large touring car driven bv Mr. F. Monk, of 17, Mount Eden Road. The light car had only the front mudguard damaged and the front portion of the chassis buckled, but Mr. Monk's car was thrown on its side on the concrete road and was extensively damaged. As it lay diagonally across the road tranjs were obliged to drive very slowly when passing it, while the large crowd attracted by the mishap added to the difficulties of passing traffic.
