BRICK AREA BUILDINGS.

PERMIT FOR, TIMBER RACK.

"If a fire does arise there is a very serious risk of it spreading, and further if a permit is given, I would ask you, gentlemen, to remember that the brick area was. established for 'minimising fire risk," said the clerk, Mr. A. Z. Cooper, at the Papaknra Town Board meeting last evening, when a timber yard proprietor asked Tor a permit to build a timber rack, with iron roof and up and down boarded sides in the brick area 50ft from the Great South Road. The chairman Mr. H. McEntee. said after perusing the board's by-laws, he was of the opinion the rack was not a building within the meaning of the bylaw.

The board decided to grant a permit on the grounds, that it did not consider the proposed rack a building.
