Placement Service Inaugurated In Victoria. 14,000 ENROLLED. (Received S 30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Victoria's Labour placement service, based on the New Zealand system following investigations made bv representatives of the Government last year, was inaugurated yesterday. Approximately 14,000 enrolled under the scheme. Each man's laltour history was traced back eight years and the results revealed a surprising degree of skill in many cases. The object of the service is to provide work, particularly for those, who, after years of unemployment, have lost the incentive to search for themselves. Many employers have already applied for labour.
