RIFLE SHOOTING.
RANGE CHAMPIONSHIP
Long-range championship shooting was continued by members of the Auckland City Defence Rifle Club. Sighting was ideal. At 800 yds there was a light rear fishtail wind, which caused little trouble, but at 900 yds it changed direction particularly rapidly, and most of the competitors were caught for wide shots. With added handicaps spoons in their respective grades were won by C. J. M. Clark and E. Hill, the latter on a count-back from F. dark Following are the trophy points to date:— A grade: C. J. M. The feature of the Akarana Rifle Club's programme at Penrose was a double shoot over the range of 300vds. when the first shoot of the final series for trophies presented by Messrs. J. H. Bridges and J. M. Rennie was decided. Conditions were good and competition was keen. Trophv points were won as follows: —Section A: T. G Bryan, 4 ; W. Colquhoun, 3 ; J. M. Rennie, 2; E. J. C.
