GLASGOW FAIR.
Buildings on Site Rapidly Progressing. ! HUGE STEEL TOWER ON WTT.T. British Official Wireless. (Rectiveil 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, March 11. Buildings on the 175-acre site of the Empire Exhibition at Glasgow are progressing rapidly. Millions of visitors to the Fair are expected. Wonderful panoramic views of Southern (Scotland will be obtainable from a 300 ft high streamlined steel tower, which has been erected on the natural hill round which the exhibition buildings are grouped. Two lifts will convey visitors to the top. There will be 16 restaurants in the exhibition. One, which is on the brow of the hill, has the shape of a ship's hull, pointing towards the most imposing United Kingdom Pavilion. The Dominions each have separate pavilions, while Scotland has two. The biggest building is the Palace of Engineering, which is equal in area to Buckingham Palace. The most striking feature of the New Zealand Pavilion is two immense posts carrying Maori carvings.
