MILLION MILES.

UNION AIRWAYS' RECORD. REMARKABLE REGULARITY. More a million miles have been flown on Union Airways' Palmerston Xorth-Dunedin and Auckland-Welling-ton services, the chairman of the company. Mr. X. S. Kalla, announced to-day. Up to February 2.5 the mileage was 1,010.945. A record unexcelled in any other part of the world has been maintained on the Palmerston Xorth-Dunedin service during the past two years, Mr. Falla ptated. Of 1476 trips scheduled. 100 per cent had l.een flown and 98.78 completed. Tn the case of the Auckland-Wellington service, inaugurated on June 26 last. 99.2 per cent of the 501 trips scheduled and attempted had been completed. "The combined services have achieved the remarkable record of over a million miles with a 98.99 per cent regularity. ' said Mr. Falla. "Adverse weather conditions and storms have been responsible for all interruptions to the service, and it is anticipated that with the introduction of the directional radio equipment and improved aerodrome facilities these figures can be maintained and possibly improved. The .great advance which has been made in New Zealand over the past two years in aerodrome construction and radio equipment has helped substantially towards the result so far."
