DOGS AS PASSENGERS.

The British railways encourage the travelling of dogs on passenger trains. Their advertisements state, "When going on a holiday, take your doo- with you."

Special facilities and cheap fares for dogs accompanying passengers are provided. Usually the .fare for the dog is about one-nfth of the pa«***engcr rate. Not more than three dojrs can accompany one passenger. At different stops along the way the station agents will furnish drinking water for the dogs.
