AT TE RAPA.

ROYAL BACHELOR WELL. TOSH AND RESPECTFUL. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") HAMILTON, this day. The going was in excellent order at Te Rapa this morning when local candidates claiming engagements at the Wellington and Ohinemuri meetings next week were galloped on the course proper 35ft out from #he rails. No. 2 grass and the plough were also available. There was nothing of outstanding merit, the best half mile of the morning being that of Tosh on the course proper, while on the plough Respectful shaped well over a similar distance. Whirling. Royal Bachelor and the two-year-old Olympus were sent along on No. 2 track and hit out freely in their respective tasks. All look in forward condition for racing and will in all probability make the trip to Trentham. A decision as to whether or not the trip will be undertaken is to be made to-day. The star member of the team, Royal Bachelor, has been working in attractive style since racing successfully at Te Aroha. On the plough Respectful (Gollop) hit out freely to record 48 4-5s for half a mile. Respectful was travelling within herself throughout. Susan (J. Winder) and Nichavo (Bootsma) were associated over six furlongs in 1.18 4-5. Susan was doing the better of the pair at the end. The only other gallop on the plough was that of Miss Clipper (J. McLaughlin), who negotiated five furlongs in 1.4 1-5. Oh the course proper Paunui (VV. M. Thomson) ran half a mile in 565. Prince Rangi (J. Winder) and Sinking Fund (R. D. Ozanne) hit out over seven furlongs, being timed over the initial half mile to

take 53 2-sa. Senacre (Telford) was doing slightly better than an unnamed Acre gelding (Baker) at the completion of half a mile in 54 4-ss. Abbey Lass (light boy), Gieen Label (Gol)op) and Wild Nation (.R. Cotter) were in that order at the end or half a mile in 53 l-ss. Fairy Hill (\V. Thomson) went with them over the tirst three l'urlongs, which ocupied 3S 4-os. I'avern Song (R. D. Ozauue) and Latour's Last (Telford), assisted over the first five furlongs by Princess Lu (Bootsma), ran once round in 2.11 4-5, the first half mile iu 56 2-5s and the five furlongs in 1.10 2-5. A smart effort over half a mile was credited to Tosh (W. Thomson), who hit out attractively to record 51s. Dark Shadow (J. McLaughlin) was slightly in advance of Gay Streak (Gollop), with Cometarium (J. Winder) several lengths away at the completion of a round in 2.2. They ran their first halt mile in and the six furlongs in 1.19 3-5. Loniacre (A. Gilmer) strode lazily over half a mile in 56%5. Innes Lad (R. Cotter), Slam (R. D. Ozanne) and Queen Lu (Telford) were associated over half a mile in 52%5. Mangukaha (W. Thomson) dashed over half a mile in 53 l-ss. Kilberis (X. C. Trillo) was given his first trial over the big hurdles, jumping the hurdle in front of the stands three times. While his exhibition was not a polished one, he got through his task in commendable style. Riding engagements for the first day of the Ohineniuri meeting at Paeroa include: W . M. Thomson, Day Wind, Marheke, Shadow Queen and General Riske: C. L. Goulsbro. Gay Rose, Rulette, Blue Needle, Lucky Dick and Cape Marita; H. Turvey, Mungacre; H. Long, Lapidarian, Philcourt, Miss Lu, Mustang, Lornacre and Maxow n.
