STRETTO AGAIN. A SMART SIX. HORSES AT ELLERSLIE. Nearly all the fast work at Ellerslie this morning was carried out on No. 1 grass track, on which the poles were out sft, but there were also some smart efforts on the tan, including six furlongs by Stretto. No. I Grass. Kilonsa ran the last six of seven furlongs in 1.24 1-5. She did her work well. Land Girl covered a similar distance in 1.21 1-5, while Knight of Australia ran four furlongs in 51 l-ss. Fleetwind shaded Palmint at the end of six furlongs run in 1.20 2-5. Avail finished in front of Master Appellant over four furlongs in 51 4-ss. The Romney—Thurnley gelding covered six furlongs in 1.20 3-5, the first three taking 40 3-ss. The Ace fillv ran seven furlongs in 1.31, the last six taking 1.18 1-5— a very good effort for a novice. Glen Abb was easing up at the end of a round in 1.57, the last six furlongs taking 1.22 4-5. Illumani completed a round in 1.56 2-5, Gay Broney covering the last six furlongs of his work in 1.24 4-5. Cintrace beat Love Parade over three furlongs in 366, while Tane Mahutu, Billy Boy and Whirlingarch were in that order at the end of seven furlongs in 1.44 1-5. Jack Tar and Ringshot were on terms at the end of a similar distance in 1.29, the first two taking 29s and four 51s—a good gallop. Te Hai ran the last three furlongs of his work in 40s. being under restraint. Ohmaha and Valmint traverfied six furlongs in 1.18 4-5, the first three taking 37 2-ss. Sir Abb and Chief Emerald covered half a mile in 52 l-ss, finishing together, while Mai de Mer ran seven furlongs in 1.37 3-5, the first three in 39 4-ss. Pasture, who began slowly, covered three furlongs in 36 3-ss, while White Foam was well clear of Hapntale at the end of half a mile in 50 4-ss, the first three furlongs taking 13s. On the Tan. * Stretto was again responsible for a good effort on the tan, running six furlongs in 1.17 4-5, the last five in 1.4 3-5. This mare will leave for Wellington on Monday,, accompanied by Jack Tar. Rereatu covered a similar distance in 1.20' 1-5, the first two in 25s and five in 1.8 1-5. Tybalt went a round in 1.52 1-s—a good gallop. Lady Defoe traversed three furlongs in 425. The Jumpers. Tiverton (Olive) jumped four hurdles in good style, while Billy Boy (Stokes) and Whirlingarch (Turvey) were given a similar task, the latter hitting the third fence hard.
