MEAT TRADE.
PRICES AT SMITHFIELD. LAMBS EASE SLIGHTLY. Some descriptions of lambs hare eased slightly on the Smithfield market. The demand is rather quiet, owing to exceptionally warm weather, according to the weekly report of the Xew Zealand Meat Producers' Board. On the mutton market, wethers are steady owing to light spot stocks. Ewes tend to be easier, with a poor demand. Frozen beef is firm, with a better demand, while chilled beef is easier owing to warm weather affecting the demand. Heavy-weight Xew Zealand porker pigs are quiet and unchanged. Others are easier with slow trade. Baconer pigs are steady and unchanged.
