TERRITORIAL CAMP.
AUCKLAND BATTALION. INDIVIDUAL TRAINING. The First Battalion Auckland Regiment is holding a week-end camp to-day and to-morrow. Auckland units have gone into camp at the Hobsonville Aerodrome under the command of Captain F. A. Sadler. They comprised A Company, the Motor Cycle Flatoon and the Intelligence Section. The remainder, consisting of B Company and D (Support) Company have camped at Waiau Pa on the Manukau Harbour between Papakura and Waiuku. Captain A. R. Munro is in command of this detachment.
The camp will give to the members of the battalion, the individual training necessary prior to the annual camp to be held by the battalion at Narrow Neck during Easter week.
Full use wa<s made of the motor transport recently provided by the Defenoo Department for the use of units in the Northern Military District. Tentage. stores, equipment and personnel were transported entirely by this means. Training in night operations, in the u.-e of ground and cover, and in field firing will be a feature of the camp.
