Authority has now been received from the Loans Board for the taking of a poll of ratepayers in the Takapuna riding of the Waitc-mata County for a further loan for the formation and scaling of Beach Road, which runs from Wairau Creek through the east coast bays to Long Bay. A loan of £7200 for this purpose was approved by the ratepayers 18 months ago. but the total cost having been under-estimated, it is now necessary to get the ratepayers' sanction to a further loan of £7000. making £14.200 in all. The balance over and above the £14,200 wUI be paid by the Highways Board. At the present time Beach Road has some very bad bends, and it is proposed to improve these.
