MERGER PROPOSED.
EAST COAST AIRWAYS. SUGGESTION TO SHAREHOLDERS. (By Telegraph.—Frees Association.) GISBORNE, this day. A recommendation that East Coast Airways should be absorbed by Union Airways is contained in a circular issued to shareholders by the directors of the former company, who explain that Union Airways have agreed to take over shares at par. It is disclosed that Union Airways hold a controlling interest in the local company, which finds its capital is -ofr. \ necessary expansion: * - - - East Coast Airways has the distinction of being the first company licensed to carry on commercial aviation in the Dominion.
