GOLDEN CROWN. i . ' INTERMEDIATE LEVEL. Mr. A. A. Adams, manager of the Golden Crown (Komata) minp. rpports on the new development at the intermediate level as follows :—■ If is quite evident that the old WaitPkauri Company, when they drove north on what they eorsidered to be the No. 2 reef, followed the hanging wall branch and » missed the rich foot wall branch that was followed down in Houghton's winze. We have now driven 25ft on this reef, and it is going direct for the winze sunk hv this company in the Golden Crown level llOft above. The reef in the bottom of this winze is well defined, and assays £2."> per ton. The face of the intermediate level will have to be driven another Kioft to reach a point under this winze, so that the prospects for a valuable block of ore are exceedingly bright. MANAGERS' REPORTS. Mount T.yell (Tasmania I.—Fortnight ended January 10: Extraction—North I.vell 3013 tons : Crown Lvell. 097 tons : West Eyell, 33.398 tons: t.yell t'omstock. 2801 tons. No. 8 level. No. 2 mullock pass rise to 62ft through ore; No. 0 level, main shaft to r.iioft (62ft below No. 0 level), through porphyry. Reduction works: Furnace in blast for full period : 2007 tons refinery anodes made for current year. Concentrator: Mill operated 33C> hours and treated 30.711 tons ore. producing 2070 tons concentrates. Copper refinery : Tank house in operation for nine days of period. 340 tons cathode copper being produced. Total for current year. 3266 tons. CLAIM SURRENDERED. In the Warden's Court an application to surrender a Waihi East special quartz clam was made by Norman E. Heath, of Auckland (Mr. J. B. Beeche). The application was granted. RETURNS OF COMPANIES. Golden Dawn (Owhamt).—For 14 working days ended January 22, 210 tons of ore ■were treated for a return of £664, gold valued at £7 2/ an ouncp. Maori Gully (Kokiri). —51oz 6dwt for 130?. hours. Mossy Creek (Westlandl.—47oz ldwt for 10,043 yards and 124J hours.
