FIGURES FOR THE WEEK.

Figures of the Xew Zealand State Placement Service for the week show that in Auckland 173 men have been placed in employment. Ihinedin leads in the weekly totals with 272, and the total number of positions for the Dominion are 1187. Wellington's total stands at 117 for the week, Wanganui's is 80 and Hamilton figures are 44. Since April, 1937. the State Placement Service has obtained jobs for 34.947 men, 6227 of these being in the Auckland district. • Next comes Wellington with 4303, and others well up on the list are Dunedin, Gisborne, Hamilton, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North and Christchurch.
