SOUTH ISLAND VISIT.
PRIME MINISTER'S PLANS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. It is the intention of the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, to pay a visit to the South Island in the near future, and, if possible, before the adjourned session of Parliament is resumed on March 1.
Mr. Savage stated that a lot of preliminary work was being put in hand straight away. In addition to the national health service and national superannuation measures, consideration would be given to some amendments to the taxation laws. The Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, had had a committee working on taxation for some time.
"It is just a question as to how much of it we can give effect to in the remaining part of the session," the Prime Minister said.
