With a pearl-handled miniature revolver, Miss Mary Josephine Atkinson, 49-years-old former nurs-e-companion to Prince Michel Radziwill, the Polish millionaire, twice shot herself in the head at the Park Royal Hotel, Leinster Gardens. No one heard the shots. Miss Atkinson died from her wounds, and she was not found until a porter forced the door of her bedroom.

Broken-hearted and ill, she came back to England after a nine vears' absence.

She had been at the hotel only a few weeks. On arrival from Danzig sh? told the manageress that she was ill, and a doctor attended lier.

She kept to her room and had all her meals brought to her. Remarks made to one of the hotel servants indicate that she was depressed because of the severance of her association with the Radzi will familv.

A reporter was told at the hotel: "So far as we know at present. Miss Atkinson has no relatives in England, but the police were able to get in touch with her solicitor here.

"She appeared to be a woman of considerable means, and was obviously very widely travelled. She looked thin and ill. and she told one of the maid-ser-vants that she was not looking forward to Christmas."'
