ORANGES AND POTATOES. The announcement in Australia that the 'Federal Minister for Customs (Mr. White) ! has concluded a trade agreement with New j Zealand immediately made Tasmauiau potato growers apprehensive, j A Tasmanian merchant is reported to have expressed the opinion that if NewZealand potatoes are to be admitted -to the Commonwealth in order that a market may be gained for Australian citrus fruits. ; then the potato industry in Tasmania will b« doomed.
