COURTHOUSE SOLD.
mew POST OFFICE SITE.

HAMILTON, Wednesday.
The old Courthouse building in Victoria Street, Hamilton, has beeen sold to a private purchaser, and will be demolished and removed to make room for the new chief post office, a contract for the erection of which is expected to be let immediately. The Official Assignee and telegraph engineer, who, with their staffs, occupy the present building, have made arrangements to vacate.
A new temporary structure of corrugated iron is being built in Knox Street. It is 102 ft long and 58ft wide, and is subdivided into 18 apartments. These will be occupied by the Official Assignee, the Hamilton Pensions Office staff, the Child Welfare Department, and the Public Works Department. The telegraph engineer and his staff have taken over another building in Knox Street.
