Snow Blocks Traffic in Many
Countries.

Central Europe is in the gi'ip of the severest winter in ten years. Snow storms are sweeping Ge/manv, where roads and railways are blocked. Traffic is dislocated in Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Italy and France.
The "Daily Telegraph" Rome correspondent says cold is causing havoc in Italy. Burst pipes and waterless houses are the general rule. The northern I*kes and rivers are frozen. Several Milan people have died of cold. Fruit and flower farms on the Italian Riviera have been devastated by frosts.
"The Times" correspondent in Berlin reports that 8400 men are shovelling snow in the city's streets, where 700 snow-ploughs are also engaged. Hungary had its coldest day since 1929. Every river except the Danube was frozen. Paris was blanketed with snow this afternoon. Three persons have died of cold in Bulgaria. The whole of Czechoslovakia is snowbound. Several packs of wolves, driven out by the cold, penetrated across the frontier from Rumania.
The most severe cold for many years is being felt throughout Morocco. Many roads are blocked by snow, reports "The Times" Casablanca, correspondent.
