ACCIDENT ON SHIP.

WATERSIDER BADLY HURT

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday.

A waterside worker, Mr. A. Bromley, of 33 Martin Square, was standing on the hatch combing of a ship at the Railway wharf, when the chain of a grab fouled a deck bridge and lifted it. On falling back the bridge struck Mr. Bromley, who received severe internal injuries and shock. Ambulance men had great difficulty in getting him off the ship because of the fallen deck bridge. After his admission to hospital he was stated to be suffering from fractured ribs and severe shock. A blood transfusion was given.
