AN AGREEMENT.
TASMAN SERVICE.
DIFFICULTIES DISAPPEARING,
(Received 11.30 a.m.) CAKBKRTCA, this day.
Mr. J. A. Lyons, Prime Minister, stated that the report of Mr. T. W. White. Minister of Trade and Customs, to Cabinet regarding hie discussion with the' New Zealand Government on the Tasman air service might enable the Federal Government to eliminate the last of the difficulties and reach an agreement with Britain and New Zealand for the opening of the service. He expected the Tasman service to almost simultaneously with the inauguration of the flying boat service from London. ' Mr. Lvons added: "The flight of the Ccntaurus has demonstrated how much the Tasman air route will do to unite Australia and New Zealand. The crossing by the Centaurus brought New Zealand "four hours closer to Australia by air than Tasmania is from the mainland by fast steamer."
