COURT SITTINGS.
HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS. To-day's sitting of the Police Court was half a dozen inebriates being the only arrested persons brought before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. To-morrow's sitting of the Police Court promises to be heavy, as a number of indictable cases have to be heard, in addition to the list of summary charges. Although Friday is a holiday under the Magistrate's Court Act, the Police Court will sit on that day. The offices of the Magistrate's Court will be open as usual, when those in receipt of maintenance will receive their last payment before the holidays. Starting on Monday, December 27 (Boxing Day), the Police Court will sit at 9 a.m. daily until Wednesday, January 4, when it will resume its usual 10 o'clock sittings. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., will preside over the Police Court during the holidays.
