BRITISH TRADE.
NO SIGN OF DEPRESSION. British Official Wireless. (Received 10.00 a.m.) RUGBY, December 21. Britain's general trade recovery was referred to by the Minister, Mr. R. A. Butler, of Sheffield, iu a speech there. He said that he saw no sign of depression approaching. It was difficult to assess the amount of rearmament work being done in Sheffield, but it was a great deal less than people imagined, perhaps 30 per cent at the most. Long before the arms programme was thought of Sheffield trades were emerging from the depression.
