The commander of the Empire flying boat Centaurus, Captain Burgess, "and j the flying su]>erintendent of Qantas I Airways, Captain Brain, are both satisI fied that the temporary bases available for flying boat* between Singapore and Darwin would be satisfactory if an ) immediate extension of the flying boat service to Darwin took place. Mollison, disclosed that recently he bought the aeroplane which won the King's Cup air race in September and is planning a solo record in January. He refused, however, to disclose his plans. London will be brought within 8 A days of Hongkong after to-day. when a new Imperial Airways route will be opened between Hongkong and Bangkok, Siaui. Ihe new air line will bp a branch of the main England-Australia air route, connecting with the latter at Bangkok, and is 400 miles shorter than the former Imperial Airways line to Hongkong via l'enang. The service will be maintained by liners of the Diana class.
