REMARKABLE DEATHS.

Two Killed, in Lightning Storm In New South Wales. CRICKETER AND YOUNG GIRL. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. During severe storms on the north coast two persons were killed by lightning. John Brewer, 29. a journalist, was playing cricket at Casino when a blinding flash struck him and two teammates down. Brewer was killed outright and the others were stunned. Where Brewer was standing, a hole a foot deep and three feet long was cut in the ground. Ivy Nicholas, 13, was killed at Murwillumbah in remarkable circumstances while listening to the wireless. It is believed that when lightning struck the aerial the current ran down into the set and leaped across on to the springs of a converted motor seat used as a lounge, which the child was touching.
