RECOVERY IN WOOL. MORE INQUIRY FOR TOPS. LONDON, December 18. The question whether wool has touched bottom seems to be decisively answered. Most traders are surprised at the .liveliness of the recovery. More inquiry for tops has been received from spinners and manufacturers, but at present they are reluctant to follow the upward trend. COTTON, RUBBER, JUTE, ETC. LONDON, December 18. (Quotations on Dec. 11 in parentheses.) Cotton. —Spot, 4.8U1 (4.70 d) a lb; January delivery, 4.68 d (4.56 d). Rubber. —Para, 7Vid (7 t &d) a lb; plantation and smoked, 7'/4d (7%d). Jute. — January-February shipments, £10 5/ (£l9 12/6) a ton. Copra. — January-February shipments, South Sea, fe'jn-dried, £13 2/6 to London and Rotterdam (£l3) a ton; South Sea, smoked. £13 2/6 to Marseilles and Genoa (£l2 17/8); plantation, Rabaul, hot airdried, £14 to London and Rotterdam (£l3 17/0). Linseed Oil.— £30 10/ (£29 15/) ft ton. Turpentine.—3l/3 (31/) a cwt.
