A QUIET MORNING.
FRIESLAND DOES HALF-PACK.

TE AWAMUTU, this day.
As it was an off morning there very little done in the way of fast work, all the horses being confined to strong tasks on the plough and middle grass. In spite of the yesterday and most of the night, the tracks were in good order, and a>s to-day is brilliantly fin® the going should Ik? excellent tomorrow.
The only horses to run along this morning were Orate, who went f® nr furlongs on the plough in and JjOom.bination, who finished ahead of Sly Fox 'H't the end of six furlongs in Sly Pox was stopping. Friefland was given two rounds at good half-pace on the middle grass.
