CHRISTMAS PARTY.

ST. JAMES' CHURCH. » HELPING HAND MISSION". Needy families in the central area of the city were entertained at a Christmas party held last nijrht l»v the St. James' Helping Hand Mission, which is conducted by members of the St. James' Presbyterian Church, Wellington Street. The Rev. R. Ferguson Fish was the organiser. Weekly entertainments and service missions have been held throughout the year, and all meetings have been lorgely attended. On each occasion supper has been provided for about 200 people. The thanks of the church to all helpers and to the artists who have assisted throughout the year were expressed last ni.L r ht by the minister. 'Toys were distributed last night by Father Christinas. The following programme, arranged by Mr. F. Beachem. was presented:—Step dancing, Miss Joy "Beattie; elocution, Miss Kdna Walford; songs, Mr. Mannall; dance, Miss Doreen Dunn and Mr. <J. Dunn; piano accordian and solo, Miss F. White and Slav Nola; songs, Mr. A. (Jear; magician and ventriloquist, Mr. Motthews; humour, Messrs. Walford and F. Bcachem. Airs. Dunne was accompanist.
