Mr. T. MacLennan, district electrical engineer, Hamilton, has returned to duty after an extended period of sick leave.
Mr. .T. A. Lee, Parliamentary UnderSecretary in Charge of Housing, left for Wellington by the Limited express last night.
Mr. E. T. Spidey, workshops superintendent for the Railway Department, returned by the Limited express to Wellington last night.
Mr. Justice Hunter, judge of the Second Court of Arbitration, leaves for the South bv the early express for Wellington this afternoon.
Mr. W. G. Thompson, publicity manager for Warner Brothers First National Pictures Proprietary, Limited, Wellington, is visiting Auckland.
Mr. F. H. Clifford, Auckland manager of the New Zealand Shipping Co., Ltd., was a passenger by the early express from Wellington this morning.
Mr. .T. \\ . Heenan, permanent UnderSecretary to the Department of Internal Affairs, arrived in Auckland by the early express from \\ cllington this morning.
Mr. T. C. A. Hislop. Mayor of Wellington. in reply to a deputation of representative citizens, announced his willingness to stand for the Mavoralty again next May.
( antain R. S. Lewis, marine superintendent of the Shaw Savill and Albion Steamship Company, arrived in Auckland by the early express fnom Wellington this morning.
The Rev. J. T. Holland, elder son of the Bishop of Wellington, arrived by the Rangitane yesterday, accompanied bv Mrs. Holland, to take up an appointment as vicar of Featherston, states a Press Association message from Wellington.
Rear-Admiral E. H. Campbell, United States Navy (retired), who arrived in Auckland by the Monterey on Monday, left for Waitomo yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. Campbell, and will visit the thermal regions to commence a month's tour of the Dominion.
Dr. J. A. Staliwortliy, formerly of Auckland, who was recently appointed first assistant at the Nuffield Medical Research Institute at Oxford, has returned to London after completing a special mission to Vienna, Berlin, Stockholm and other Continental centres.
C. J. Morkane, of Dunedin. returned to the South by the Limited express last night after visiting his brother, Dr. C. F. Morkane, of Christchurch, who has been a patient for several weeks in an Auckland hospital. Dr. Morkane* has almost recovered from his illneses. and expects to return to Christchurch in about a fortnight.
Mr. R. A. Wilson. who has been appointed assistant manager of the Auckland branch of the Xew Zealand Insurance Co.. Ltd.. and who will leave Invercargill shortly, was presented with a fuitoasc by the Inverfcirgill Golf Club at the annual social function. Mr. Wilson won the championship of the club this year for the fifth time.
