REVENUE INCREASE.
£18,300 PROFIT FOR MONTH.

WELLINGTON, Thursday.
Compared with the results fur the corresponding period last year, the net railway revenue for the four weekly period ended November 13, shows an improvement of £8034. A working profit of £18,373 compares with a profit of £10.339.
The railway working account for the period shows the gross receipts to have been £014,180, an increase of £68,122 on the figure last year. Expenses ( £59.3,807) were £00,088 higher.
Earnings by the North island railways were £331,302, an increase of £45,211, and expenses were £323,457, or £.'5!).028 higher. There was a profit of £793.), compared with one of £1752 last year. Receipts from the South Island railways were £204,844, an inc:vase of £10,398, and expenses were £223.503, or £14,841 higher. There was a working loss of £18,719, compared with a loss of £14.270.
For the period from April 1 to November 13 the ret revenue was £170,405, as against £357.191 last year, the decrease being £180,783. The gross revenue was £4,994,040, an increase of £025,012. The expenditure waa £4,823,990, compared with £4,012,201, an increase of £811,795.
